About Us

The Tiverton District of Network Scouts started in 2017. We serve Tiverton and the surrounding area, including the Willand, Uffculme, Cullompton, Hemyock, Churchinford and Dunkeswell areas. Contact us if you’re unsure.

Our members are from both sides of the Devon/Somerset border. The majority of our planning meetings take part in Churchinford or Hemyock.

As of June 2020, we have 11 active members.

What is Network?

The Scout Network offers opportunities for 18 to 25 year olds to meet socially, undertake projects for personal development, travel in the U.K. and overseas and work towards awards such as the Queen Scouts Award/Duke of Edinburgh Award. These look great on your CV!

Do I need to have been in Scouting before to join?

Nope. As long as your between 18 and 25, you can join the group. No previous experience needed.

What activities do you do?

Activities vary widely. We like to do the usual easy camping weekend as well as pub meets (a must have!). In 2018, we had a 3 day trip in the Peak District; climbing, bouldering, walking, swimming, cycling and indoor skydiving. In June-July 2019, we did a month long trip from Eastern to Western Europe. This was organised completely by the members. See our blog posts from the trip on the home page. 2020s plans include a more regular program, an Easter camp in Snowdonia and a Summer camp in Ireland (all subject to change). We also help at local Scout nights and camps.
